Dear Mr. Hauer,
I handed over the picture to your sons and ask you, if possible, not to do the exchange until I am back on track; when the next picture is ready, which I assume you will like, I will of course write to you and should you like it, we will simply swap. – If you find it difficult, I’d be perfectly willing to agree now with your proposition. With the first, the following would result:
||
You sent me 200 K [Kronen] to Sattendorf and, according to your statement, half would still be for the “Resurrection” and the other 100 K for a new picture, so that, according to you, 200 K is still owed for the picture of the sawmill. I, however, wrote that the first 100 K which according to you were meant for the painting “Resurrection”are an advance for a new one. It is of course up to you to decide what to do.
Warmest greetings your
Egon Schiele.
